Beliefs
Renew Baptist Church holds as an essential part of its belief, what are commonly known as Evangelical Doctrines, as set forth in the Declaration of Principle of Queensland Baptists, 1. The Divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Scriptures in the Old and New Testaments.2. The existence of one God in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.3. The Deity and incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, the Second Person in the Holy Trinity.4. The fallen, sinful and lost estate of all mankind.5. The salvation of men from penal consequences and the power of sin, through the perfect obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His unchanging Priesthood.6. The immediate work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of men, in their sanctification and in their preservation to the Heavenly Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.7. The necessity, in order to salvation, of repentance towards God and of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.8. The resurrection of the dead and the final judgement of all men by the Lord Jesus Christ.9. The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are of perpetual obligation, Baptism being the immersion of Believers upon the profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a symbol of the fellowship of the regenerate in His death, burial and resurrection; the Lord’s Supper being a memorial until He comes of the sacrifice of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ..

Renew Baptist Church Logo Explanation by Pastor Toni Thomas
Psalm 1:1-3 (NLT)Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked,or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees, planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Psalm 23:1-3 (NLT)The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength, He guides me along right paths, bringing honour to his name.Ephesians 4:22-24 (NLT)Throw off your old sinful nature and former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on our new nature, created to be like God-truly righteous and holy. Colossians 3:10Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
Explanation
The vision I had for this Logo was for the person, on seeing the representation of the tree and water, to feel a sense of peace maybe (dare I say it) even hope.I have always felt that if you give yourself a chance to stop and rest in a restful place you will come to a place of peace and that if you are there long enough you can even come to a place of renewal. To feel at peace, you first have to feel safe, and then yes you then have to stop and get comfortable. Once you have done or achieved these three things you can then give yourself the chance to unwind; to think (or not); to listen (focusing on the sounds, both natural and man-made); to let go; to change; and yes to be renewed if you allow yourself enough time.I have found that the process of allowing God to renew me, revive me, can take different amounts of time (depending on what is going on) but the process does get easier the more often I allow him to.The verses above were used to help focus my thoughts for this logo. I hope you may feel the same stirring as I that God indeed changes our hearts, make us new, leads us by still waters and give us peace.
